Prof. M.N.Navale: A Miracle

Transforming a remote and barren hill in Vadgaon (Bk), near Pune, where there was not even way to go up, into an international educational hub, bustling with thousands of young and enthusiastic students coming from various States in India, with hundreds of vehicles going up and down the hill on a neat road specially designed for this purpose and still maintaining serene and eco-friendly atmosphere, and all this change taking place in less than two decades looks as something imaginary, but is true! Beginning with single modest educational institution and expanding to 100 educational institutions, imparting education from K.G. to P.G. in all the faculties, barely in a span of 17 years is simply a miracle. On an average establishing one school/college every two months, unbelievable but true!

This miracle could take place only because of the vision and untiring efforts of great educationist Prof. M.N.Navale (B.E., M.E., M.I.E, M.B.A). He is the founder President of the Sinhgad Technical Education Society (STES). In 1993, when he, supported by his family members like his wife Dr. (Mrs.) Sunanda M. Navale, his elder brother Prof. S.N.Navale and few close friends, started this educational institution he had only two thousand rupees with him. Now the budget of this institution runs in crores! A great leap indeed! Born in an agricultural family in a small village in Sangola District, he took off to reach higher and higher educational heights. He is soft-spoken, practical in approach, least caring about his costume and publicity, dislikes flattery. He has the capacity of perfect planning for the development and expansion of his educational institutions. Having courage to face any challenge in his uphill task in educational field, he is extraordinarily ambitious and haunted by only one goal in his life i.e. growth of Sinhgad Technical Education Society, qualitatively as well as quantitatively even to the other parts of the globe! He has proved to be able administrator and his decision making power is astonishingly fast and accurate! He is keen on providing special perquisites to the heads of the colleges and schools and keeping them satisfied as to their service conditions. Though STES does not get any grants from the Government, all the employees in STES are paid as per UGC and Government rules to keep them content. Students enjoy the lush-green atmosphere of the colleges, with spacious buildings, all modern infrastructure and amenities, auditoriums, LCD projectors fitted in every class-room, computer labs, wi-fi facility, provision for hostels, mess, canteen, provision stores, bank with ATM facilities and free medical services. Aesthetic sense of Prof. M.N.Navale is clearly visible in the Architectural design and landscape gardening in all the campuses of the STES.

A feat of performing social obligation can be seen in establishing Shrimati Kashibai Navale Hospital in Narhe-Ambegaon in Pune which provides free medical treatment to all. In Government Hospital, a nominal fee is charged for taking a case paper, but in this Hospital there is no bill book at all! Patients, who get free but good treatment here, shower good wishes on Prof. M.N. Navale. He is provider of employment opportunities too. A great service he is doing for the society. Not only few thousand present employees, but also persons who have left this Institution for their personal reasons, also speak with respect and regards towards Prof. M.N. Navale. This is his great achievement.

He was born on 30^th December 1950. He completes 60 today. Happy Birth Day to him!
