In the childhood, he is insisted to study hard and secure maximum number of marks in the examination. He virtually runs after marks. In the college life, he aspires to become doctor or engineer. But he has no merit and his father does not afford to give lakhs of rupees as donation for medical or engineering course. He has to complete B.Ed., B.A.M.S., LL.B. or other degrees as a second alternative which he silently regrets deep in his mind throughout his life. He collects and preserves his degrees and other educational certificates as sacred documents. After education, he struggles for a job. Ultimately gets one. But he is not satisfied there and tries to find another job, then some other job. Finally he settles in a job. He always feels and complains that he got the job of lesser status than what he deserved and he is getting a lesser salary than what he deserves. Purchases a two wheeler as a necessity. Marries but late in life, because he has lost much of his time in making his ‘career’. Wife takes a job to augment family income and also to assert her identity. He frequently quarrels with his wife but eventually has to adjust with her. Children are born. As both husband and wife are working, there may be difficulty in rearing the children. So whenever possible grandmother of the children is called and assigned the duty to look after the children. He finds very difficult to get admission to his children in reputed schools. Has to please his boss where he is working. Goes on saving money but finds it very difficult due to increasing family needs. After about 10 years or so in the job, purchases 1BHK or 2BHK Flat with loan, goes on paying installments for about 10 years. Purchasing a house is the greatest achievement in his life! Takes tour with his family to south India and if possible to north India. That is his memorable enjoyment. Purchases refrigerator and now a days Computer also just as a mark of status and to show to the guests. May purchase a low cost or second hand car as a luxury. Saves and then spends few lakhs of rupees for his daughter’s marriage and son’s education. Saves money in nationalized banks and in purchasing gold, never invests in shares. His topics for chatting are confined exclusively to two subjects: current politics and widespread corruption. Occasionally he worships God faithfully. Sincerely does his job for 30-35 years to get at the end of life a pension or a good amount of contributory provident fund and gratuity (that was his only dream!). He hopes, after his retirement, to enjoy life at leisure without doing any work, as he will be getting pension and then there will be no need to please any boss or ask any permission for casual leave. Diseases of old age have already started entering his body by his age of 50 years. After retirement, he goes on visiting his son and daughter who are posted invariably at some other place and gets there a duty to entertain his grandchildren. When he or his wife falls ill, his son or daughter may once or twice visit him. But thereafter, both are often reluctant to visit and spend few days in nursing him. Son’s excuse is he cannot get a leave of absence from his job; job will suffer. Daughter’s excuse is that husband does not allow her to stay away from her family responsibilities like schooling of children. Now, this old middle class man lives because he does not die. One day, he suddenly dies to be mourned by few for a day or two, after which he is lost in oblivion. World did never notice his birth or existence or his death. After three generations even his name is not remembered in his family by his successors!

Life of a Middle Class Person
In the childhood, he is insisted to study hard and secure maximum number of marks in the examination. He virtually runs after marks. In the college life, he aspires to become doctor or engineer. But he has no merit and his father does not afford to give lakhs of rupees as donation for medical or engineering course. this is exact story & description of a middle man...though it is unfortunate;it is true....
ReplyDeleteLife is like that -a jigsaw puzzle or net,in which one gets enmeshed and comes out only after he leaves the physical frame.
ReplyDeleteA vivid presentation of the Reality of a middle class person.
Dr Satish K Kapoor
Yes sir it is reality but sir hard work faith change every once life and it is possible to move middle class to rich class . " Jab tak Apke pas paise hai tab tak apko log puchate aap kaise hai"........ but its reality of middle class people
ReplyDeleteRESPECTED SIR,
ReplyDeleteHOW EMOTIONAL BUT TRUE ASPECT OF LIFE,THANK YOU FOR YET ANOTHER GREAT TEACHING
But sir It is my personal opinion that unconventional & professional education with will to be on top can make common man to a celeb. It is responsibility of educational institutes to give them professional aspect while their degree courses.unfortunately solapur university is doin d same.just crushing students future.particularly law stream it should be changed hugely.way the system of law education in solapur university is it will only produce LAWYERS not LEGAL PROFESSIONALS.if u allow me then i would like to tell u story of a common average law student.SORRY IF I DISRESPECTED ANYONE THANK YOU
RESPECTED SIR,
ReplyDeletePLEASE GIVE ME PERMISSION TO SHARE A STORY OF AVERAGE LAW STUDENT.LIFE:OF AVERAGE LAW STUDENT.
LIFE:of a average law student
ReplyDeleteHe is not 'THE TALENTED ONE'.He scores 50% to
60% in the 12th.The question arises WHATS NEXT?
cant get anywhere else somebody tell him instead of
doing BA B.COM go to Law.So gets admission
easily. After getting syllabus feels Law is not easy as
admission.Attends lectures but he's got typical Indian
English so lecture & Lecturer goes over the top,so
comes from the class as if he returned from different
orbit leaves attending lectures starts to sit in canteen
one senior student suggests him to join classes that he
joins. In the class teaching is done in his mother tongue
so he,s happy that he is understanding.THEN EXAMS
in the exams he cannot write because what he learn t
was in in his mother tongue, paper is in English
somehow, something he gives exam, then the results
he fails. With the jack of AT-KT he climbs the mountain of
the 5 year course in 7-8years.NOW HE IS A
CERTIFIED LAWYER.He is not having rich family
background so pressure to start earning. He does not thinks about other options but of practice.so makes a
new nameplate,prints v cards.THEN enters into a new &
wholly new world named as 'COURT'.He finds a lawyer
from his relative,friend circle,contacts & starts practicing
under him.He realizes how different practical work is
from theory so he spends his early years in court canteen regrets he spent his college days in canteen that's why he has to sit now in court canteen also. His first year or so goes in just carrying bag
of his senior & learning the names of judges & places of
their courts.along with work parents keep asking him to
get married but like a common boy he dreams to get
bold & beautiful, well educated wife.for that he decides to
marry only after he earn lots of money & fame in his
profession so he refuses parents to marry till
then.meanwhile he stars gaining from small types of
works like bail, affidavaits but not enough to be called as
'SETTLED'.He gets frustrated another storm comes
when his seniors son becomes Lawyer & joins him.All
work & attention of his senior goes only to his son.so
after cursing his senior in his mind & behind he leaves
office of his senior becoming self proclaimed senior
lawyer. Then his new quest starts, after aligning with
some police ,people from his home town he gets cases
doing same type work from which he gets labeled like
all lawyers Eg.Murder specialist, thief specialist even
divorce specialist & bail specialist.He doesn't accept
different types of cases due to fear & being not reluctant
try new ones. Now he decides to get married but with
increased age & reputation of BEING LAWYER he does
not get many matrimonial offers after year or so not
getting the women he dreamed as his wife he finally
marries with his hometown girl chosen for him by hos
parents. Now that he feels he has all his greatest
professional achievement comes when he buys a shop
as an office somewhere. Now he decides to step
forward takes case of big metro city but when he goes
there he realizes that he was just a pond-frog & there is
big sea outside it.In metro city there is different world
work goes with technology hi finds himself unable to
cop with it & handover the brief to local lawyer which
he has contact with & returns ,After some months he
gets to know that the same case wasn't even filed.feels
he has cheated himself after that somehow fixes the
work himself.
